Road-Rail vehicle CATERPILLAR M312 - TWIN

Road-Rail Excavator CATERPILLAR M 312 TWIN consists of front and rear rail gears. Both front rail gear and the rear rail gear are swiveling and are designed to ensure maximum stability on rails. Rail wheel diameter is 400 mm, gauge and wheel profile is adapted for ride on grooved rails.

The rail gears are installed between the excavator frame and the excavator share using extra pins for interconnection of the rail gears to the excavator frame and the excavator share (stabilisers frame) to the rail gears. Technical solution enables quick disassembly and reassembly of the rail gears, which means that the excavator can be used both with or without the rail gears. The thrust of the rail gears on rails is ensured by hydraulic accumulators.
